Default Driver's side mirror twitching

As some have read, I have been looking at a 2009 LX with 95K on the clock. I took it for a test drive only to find that the driver's side mirror has a "twitch". I asked the owner who stated that over time they just "got use to it". To me, it was noticeable and somewhat distracting. After the truck was taken into the local Toyota Dealer, it was found that in order to remedy the mirror issue, the entire mirror would need to be replaced equaling a whooping $2400.00 WOW! It seems to be a motor issue with the mirror which does subside at higher speeds (~50 mph). Has anyone had similar issues? I will now begin my search for a fix for this mirror as the new asking price is $29500. Thanks for any help or insight.

The problem is that no one wants to diagnose and possibly repair the mirror, all they want to do is replace it. Cost for this will always be astronomical.

If you are somewhat handy doing you own repair work, the side mirrors can be opened up and inspected for obvious issues like loose mounting screws, etc. Do a search for "puddle light" and you can find instructions for the mirror dis-assembly procedure.
