Red face 2005 LX470 Bluetooth problems

Hello all,
Has anyone figured out how to transfer the address book from a sprint LG phone into the Nav.system?
I have searched the forums but have not had any luck....the phone manual does not discuss "transfer phone book" and my LX will not let me set up any "one touch dialing" without first transfering the phone numbers from the phone....catch 22....I have succesfully "paird" and can receive calls ....but cannot make out going calls hands free....!
Thanks to any who will sound in!

Does anythign transfer? Or nothing? I had a problem where only the name would transfer but not the number (I have an 05 GX470).

I don't know how the LG works, but this is the method I have used. On the car, in telephone, go to settings. Press the "start transfer", and at the next screen press "add" (note, if you choose "overwrite" it will overwrite the whole phone book you already programmed, not the single entry you are trying to add). You should then get a screen saying something like "please send from phone". Then, go to your phone and follow its procedures to send the number or numbers. In your contacts or address book, there should be some option to choose like "send contact" or "send phone book" or something like that. Send from your phone. The nav screen should say "transfer in progress" and will complete in a couple seconds. When done your phone screen should pop up. Press OK.

Good luck!

Hey BPO...

Your problem with transferring your phone book may lie within your phone. I own a 2004 LX. I used to own a motorola v220 phone and there was a "send" option within the phone itself. After selecting the transfer data from the phone menu on your Lexus, it instructs you to send the data from the phone. If your phone doesn't have this option, you're out of luck. I recently upgraded (or so I thought) my cell phone to the new Motorola v710. While it's a great phone, it doesn't have that send feature, which I find absurd for a brand new phone made by a manufacturer who has this option on their other Bluetooth phones. I called Motorola, and they basically told me I was out of luck and to my knowledge, there is no way of entering the numbers manually.

My Motorola v505 works well with my '05 LX. However, I can only txfr one number at a time to the car, not the entire phone book at once. It took awhile, but all the numbers are in there. Works well so far. I booted Verizon because the only phone they have that they claim has bluetooth is the v710. They have limited that phone's capabilities. Just my $.02.

I went to a Verizon Wireless store this weekend and they supposedly uploaded the new firmware. The problem is that the v710 is still not ringing, audibly, on incoming calls. Isn't that the main problem this new software was supposed to fix? Has anyone else gotten the new firmware? If so, please tell me what issues it was supposed to fix, and if it in fact worked for you. For the record, I'm driving a 2004 LX. Any and all feedback is greatly appreciated.

Default verizon...blowing chunks!

First of all, we need to understand something....Verizon really screwed us on this V710 and bluetooth. They have disabled much of the bluetooth functions...and therefore have a class action law suit against them.

The V710 software upgrade was supposed to do the following:

Enable an audible ring (all i have after the upgrade is a ring from my phone, which is still an improvement, but I still have no ring from the Lexus)

Enable thesignal strength meter of bluetooth connection on the Lexus (I now have this--big woop)

There is still NO WAY to transfer any phonebook info to the Lexus...this is becuase of the disabled functions of bluetooth, obex, etc...bottom line, it still does not work.

If you really want to complain, I have complained to a representative from Verizon, from the Office of the President of the company. I can give you his info if you want.

There are some BMW's that have the phonebook issue fixed I have heard.

I heard that because they couldn't figure out a way to charge the customer $.05 ofr $.10 each transfer or bluetooth connection, that they disabled that feature. This is the company that charges extra for itemized monthly billing!!!!!! That can't cost them anything to produce!! All the other companies do small stuff to keep their customers happy. With the class action lawsuit that's been filed over this, I hope the plainiffs' attorney says, "Can you hear us now???" in one of his letters.

The 05 LX should be able to pair with an iPhone 4 but will not be able to "sync" the address book according to http://www.lexus.com/bluetooth/

Technology has come a long way since 2005 which I think was the first year Bluetooth was available in the LX. 2004 was definitely the first year of Bluetooth in the LS when only one phone model (Nokia 6310i) was supported early on and Bluetooth barely worked.
