Several small problems.
I have accumulated a set of small problems/questions.
1) the method of transferring the phone book from my cell phone to the car computer in the manual does not match what my car does.
First when I try to transfer the phone book I I get to a message, "please transfer phonebook data from telephone"....sounds like a command, to initiate the transfer but I dont know how to initiate the transfer and there are NO buttons to press. The phone is on and blue tooth paired and I can make phone calls, but what do I do at this point to initiate the transfer? After a few seconds with doing nothing the screen changes by adding a "Cancel" button....Soooo I asume it is doing something.....but after several minutes it says the transfer failed.
2) Can I NOT pair TWO (2) phones to it at the SAME time so if either is called the car system will answer???
3) Is there no way to enable the phone so that a passenger can initiate a call while the car is driving? Do I really need to stop to let SOMEONE ELSE use the phone?

The Bluetooth system that comes in the LS430 is extremely old. Bluetooth was very new in the mid 2000s and didn't work as smoothly as it does now. Many of the problems that you are having pairing your phone book are probably a result of old technology trying to work with new technology. I bought my LS almost 3 years ago and had problems with my S3 transferring my phone book. I ended up just dialing from my phone. And I think that you can only pair one phone at a time but I'm not sure.

I hear you. But the S3 came out in 2012. That's light years beyond the LS system. Bluetooth debuted in the 2004 LS I believe. So that means that that technology was already 1-2 years old. We bought a new 2004 TSX and I remember the salesman showing me the 2004 TL that had just come out with Bluetooth technology. Later, when I was a tech at Acura, all the cars with the early Bluetooth systems had a ton of problems. We bought a 2004 TL in 2009 and even then we were having problems with our phones connecting. And I have a Pioneer double din in my LS. I moved it from my 2011 Scion XB to this car. The Pioneer head unit was top of the line in 2012. Cost me almost $1000. But just before Christmas I bought a lower end Pioneer head unit without navigation for my truck. The retail on that unit was like $299. The lower end Pioneer connects faster and sounds better then my top of the line unit from 2012. Technology moves so fast.

The software for the GPS/Phone is so NOT intuitive. I have 40years experience in programing, starting in 1960 and cant believe that stuff was written in 2004. Its horrible, but it does work. Mostly...LOL A lot of its failure is in the translation from Japanese to English and cultural differences. I wish Japanese companies would spend the salary to hire just one native English speaker.
I dont want to give up the CD player for a second GPS. But it does look like a nice installation..

Get a BT adapter - such as https://www.usaspec.com/p-322-bt45-toy.aspx - Their website states $229 - Amazon has it for $143 w/Prime 2-day shipping. Easy-peasy install and it works awesomely.
This displays music info on NAV and you have steering wheel controls to change the song if you don't like it.
Use Siri or Google Now on your phone to dial by commanding "Hey, Google, call Mother."
