Default 04-06 Replacement Mirrors Cost

Well i got my side mirrors replaced under CPO b/c on was folding in slow, and the one of the mirrors would tilt down in reverse slow.

Service Invoice

-Mirrors: $716.76 ea.
-Total Parts: $1,433.52
-Total Labor: $85.45
-Total MISC DISC -$1,518.97
-Total Invoice: $0.00

Dayum----the side mirrors are espensive if you had to pay out of pocket! And that was the total with out sales tax at 7%, anyway i'm sure they are cheaper online if you had to buy them opossed going to your dealer.

I had the ser tech throw the old ones in the trunk, I have swap out the LED's in the mirrors over the weekend.

$1500+ for two mirrors ??!?!?!? no wonder a new LS430 cost like $60K. the sum of it's parts here would add up to $150K.

SO Philly,

I did not pay for the new mirrors, the dealer or Lexus paid for them under the CPO warrantee. Sorry bro i would have just dealt with the issues for that kind of $$$$$, I'm a baller on a budget!

baller on a budget; i hear that. i'm surprised the dealership didn't tell you that because you changed to an led light that this is what caused the mirror issue and that it is not covered by their cpo warranty stuff... this is usually the kind of response i get, well at least with my old gs400 this is the kind of response i usually got.

Sojah,

I know the tech so the dealer knows nothing about the LED's (puddle lights) and if they did come with that lame ish, they would have real a problem. Believe or not they did try to fight it at first, the service rep said Lexus will not replace them unless they stopped working altogether and I said I disagree! I had a talk with the service manager and he repeated the same thing, then I asked him (in front of other customers) are they working like Lexus designed them to function? I had to ask him several times before he said no. Then I said then they are BROKEN so fix them or do we need to call California about the issue? His reply was no we do not and we will replaced them for you. I had to wait two weeks for them to come in, once I saw the invoice now I know why they were trying to not to deal with it.

wow, thats so feakin' nuts that us the customer always has to fight so much just to get whats right... i am not sure about cpo's but i was told that dealerships actually make money off of doing warranty work, so they are usually eager to do it. i don't know if in this case your dealership had to foot the bill for the mirrors or lex hq, but sounds like the dealership didn't want to help out so maybe they had to pay the bill... hmmmm...

Yeah Lexus parts are expensive!

I just got a few simple things replaced on my SC430 under warranty, and the bill was $8000+

The issues was there prior (I was to lazy making a service complaint) to me swaping out the LED bulbs, plus the LED's would not cause the motor in one of them to start folding in slow or make one mirror tilt out of sync. Yes I used the credit card trick (That you found) to remove my LED's from the old mirrors, I will be doing the swap this weekend.

I had the same experience with a slow folding mirror. Dealer replaced under warranty. Only thing they didn't do was to replace the 3M cover protection I had on it.

With all the complaints on the air suspension being costly to repair so they won't buy an Ultra, I'm surprise no one says I wont buy an LS because the mirror replacement cost so much. I mean, its the same line of thought.
