Default Anyone tried SDSTOYO AUX Input?

I bought this (http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...FQKenAodDjnv3w) for $40 seeing as it would cost as much to build PD's Aux input. I'm not very electronically inclined, so I thought i'd give this a shot.
Install instructions say to plug it into the back of my Nakamichi Deck (2000 LS400) but it doesn't fit. So I plugged it into the CD changer instead. I grounded it on a piece of metal under the dash. I powered it by using Add-a-circuit fuse adapter using the Radio No.2 fuse.
My CD's play fine but when I switch it to my Ipod nothing changes. The GS guys say it works with their Nakamichi decks but I can't get it to work on my LS.
Any ideas?

P.S. I'm going to post this same question in the Audio (and maybe even the GS section) section as well.

I sure hope you can get that aux input product to work but a bunch of us, including me, has been looking for years for one that will work on an LS -- I haven't found one yet.

The ones I've seen for the GS do not work on the 98-00 LS.

There is a guy on eBay guy who for about $60 (?) will add an RCA jack to the front of your head unit or run an RCA jack on a cable out the back of your head unit. The RCA jack in his solution hijacks the FM tuner when something is plugged into the RCA jack.

it's because that won't work for your car.

For all that work you could have DIY'd it and have an input like mine for my IPOD.
Thanks again PD> .

1 power, 1 ground and plugging in 2 harnesses is slot less work than PD's.
I don't mind trying new things.

Schnitz, the eBay seller who adds a 3.5 mm aux input jack to the front or back of Lexus radio headunits for $60 is "factoryradios". Attached is one of the photos from eBay of a Lexus radio with the added aux input on the front.

Thanks for the heads up. I'm more than likely going to give PD's way a shot. I'll email him anyways.

i did PD's thing except WITHOUT all of the solenoids and whatever - i just cut into the line-level feed between the CD changer and the head unit, three wires, and spliced in some 3.5mm headphone jacks. i bridge them with a 3.5mm audio cable when i want to listen to the cd changer, and i unplug one end and put the cable into my mp3 player when i want to listen to my music. total cost was somewhere around five bucks.

i just got the SDSTOYO unit, and a ipod>RCA cable to plug into the ststoyo unit.

when i plug it in, the iphone gets taken over by the headunit, but i can't get it to play the iphone music INSTEAD of the cd changer music.

the SDSTOYO thing is basically a simpler version of the AUX input HOWTO that puredrifter linked above.

i am wondering if my iphone isn't working because it's in "take over" mode when i have the iphone>rca adapter plugged in? it's like the headunit is taking it over, but won't play what it has taken over.
