They perform great! You can hear the turbo spool up and slightly hear the blow off valve when letting off in mid RPM throttle.

I am using these intakes with the Tom's Power Box, Apexi Throttle Controller, and a custom exhaust.

Without the intakes my LS500 dyno'd at 402whp and 463 ft lb tq.

Hoping to hit the dyno soon to see if there is any significant power increase with the new intakes!

Nice to see do you have the dyno results on paper, I just want to see the data as I was about to do the same thing just to find out where it dynos with those same mods minus the intake tube.

Very cool. Does the sound change if you hit the sport mode button?

Also, what color is your LS? Maybe it’s the picture, but it doesn’t look like a standard color?

Wow 402 is a lot of power at the wheels. I was expecting mid 300s.

I agree. What kind of dyno was it? I think 15% drive train loss is the average, so you are putting out around 470 hp at the crank with your exhaust. That’s awesome! 😀

did you ever do a baseline stock?

With those intakes exposed, how are you going to eliminate or reduce heatsoak?

The air under the hood is hot, not cold. Stop calling it a cold air intake, most of them aren't actually. They do sound cooler though, I have installed them on multiple vehicles for the sound. Just don't kid yourself, they are not drawing cool air in (which you actually want). Maybe call it a "Noise Air Intake"??

NVRLAND, is your exhaust just the catback or did you also replace the midpipe?

Turbo cars have these things called charge coolers and it's well known if you eliminate resistance on the cold side then you will have higher compressor efficiency and greater air volume without an increase in IAT if the cooler is large enough to compensate.

The factory air boxes/true cold intakes usually do not allow the low pressure side totally unimpeded flow and in some applications where you electronically increase the maximum allowed air volume/boost you can literally collapse a stock filter/intake tube solution from the vacuum some turbos can create in that part of the system. Poster child for this is the 6.0 and 6.4 powerstoke that both flatten their intake tubes at only 30% power over stock. Lots of those engines are at 80-150% over stock and require a "noise air intake" as you call it since stock equipment is simply not good enough.

I can't definitely say the LS500 needs the setup shown by the op yet at that power level but it will not hurt anything and provided cold side resistance to flow is lowered and the charge cooler can keep up there will only be a power increase no losses.

Even without any performance enhancement, those look fabulous.
