I've had my LS for a year and have never seen the battery. I'm not even sure where it is, lol. I haven't looked under the engine cover. My BMW's was in the trunk.

Man, long gone are the days when if you dropped a tool while working on the engine, it would be on the ground underneath the car. Now, it takes a mechanical magnetic grabber, if you can even see where it went.

Have you checked underneath the trunk mat?

As it’s basically in the center of the trunk, I Have a nagging fear that a spilled liquid will take it out, ie grocery hauling. The mat and cover don’t seem water tight.

Don’t know if you guys care or not, but I priced out the batteries at my dealers parts counter and you are correct, the OE battery is about $1900. I confirm that this isn’t for the hybrid battery. The dealer doesn’t even recommend getting that one. Mine partners with interstate battery and the equivalent is about 300 bucks or so.

Isn't a H6 from Walmart for $120 for a 5 year warranty (3 year replacement) a better deal?

https://www.walmart.com/ip/EverStart...up-h6/16782658

Or the H6 AGM for $150 with a 5 year replacement warranty?
