Default LS battery price

Today I went through a listing I had of OEM basis parts and prices for the LS500. I checked oil filter , air filter and a few odd items of interest. The basic parts I looked up were real reasonable and had a discount from the list price. I decided to see the battery price since it looks a little intriguing in the trunk. Well the discounted price was over $1200. With a parts #28800-31450 . I said no-way it must be the hybrid battery , well I looked again and the auxiliary battery is priced at $2400 .. Maby we have some type of magic super battery.
Thats going to be hard to deal with. I’ll see what really goes when it’s time for a new battery.

When I look that up it relates to the hybrid battery or to the LS500h. For the gas engine I think its Part # 28800-38190 shows me a total of $683 But my guess is that it is the Panasonic battery which costs more as it says shipping from japan.

That’s somewhat better, still kind of high. The next time I’m in at the shop I’ll ask the parts dept. also. Thanks

Can you just use the Everstart H6 Lead Acid battery for $120 from Walmart?

Where are you getting your parts at a discount?

There are a number of sites where you can beat the dealership. Try discount parts monster.com Good for looking up parts.

Pretty sure he just wanted to know why the price was so high, as most of the batteries are covered under warranty for 4years.

Apparently someone liked the new battery I put into my ES so much, they just had to have it. One of two service establishments had the keys: a repair shop for a front dent, and a tire/front-end alignment shop.

Of course I didn't notice the battery had been switched until it died, and when I took a look, "Whoa, where did that one come from?"

Just another thing to watch when I have someone else maintain my cars, smh.

Are you saying someone stole your battery from your ES. If that is true that’s truly messed up.

Yup, my battery had been switched out for one obviously on its last legs, since it died only months after I visited two shops.

Since I had gone to more than one place, I couldn't definitively blame one of them. Had plans to call the managers and let them know, but I have done nothing at this point.

That really sucks. I would raise hell as that is theft, love the Panasonic batteries too.

How long does the Panasonic battery last?

Isn't the battery covered by the bumper to bumper 4 year 50k warranty?

Which Panasonic model is included from the factory?
