Sales data LS500 vs LS460 & earlier

LS500 has picked up the pace, but not as much as they had hoped
Suggests major change will happen soon (within next couple of years).
Either dropping the model or a redesign.
Methinks dropping is more likely.
I've also seen that rebates are already offered for LS500.

Lexus needs to be a little more flexible in giving customers more engine options, esp in their top of the line model.

My response was to the implication of this thread, that LS 500 sales are so bad that after only 5 months, Lexus has been forced to offer rebates to get sales numbers up, and that is simply not the case. As I posted on another thread, LS 500 sales are holding up better than the rest of the segment.
If we look at the average monthly sales for Q1 vs. Q2 for the segment, we get the following:
Moreover, I threw out Jan & Feb for the LS since available qty's were limited and went with the March number, which was the highest month of any and puts the LS at a disadvantage right out of the gate. As you can see, the LS handily beat the competition in Quarter over Quarter sales. The lone exception was the 7 Series, which had May sales nearly double the previous month and more than double the remaining 5 months average, so there is clearly a statistical aberration there.
