And I'm not bashing the Model S here at all. I did 2 test drives before I decided to go with the LS 500.
Doesn’t ^^^ this just tell you they are in the same segment?Originally Posted by dsc07

No, actually. I was only trying it because here in Southern California, access to the HOV lanes is a HUGE benefit that you can't get from luxury cars. As one who drives almost 1,000 mi/week, I had to seriously consider that perk. One of my co-workers kept pushing me to try it again, try it again... so I did. Ironically, this is the guy who just switched to the Model 3 because he couldn't justify the price of another Model S.Originally Posted by LexsCTJill

Anyway, enough about the Model S. Let's take this discussion back to the LS 500. That's the car I chose, and aside from a few minor irritants in the design, I'm very happy that I did.

Well, if you test drove it and then chose the LS, seems to me that you are in the demographic for the buyer. But all good.Originally Posted by dsc07

Glad you enjoy your car . I think there are a lot of people wanting a sales failure(simy becuase the design is new and different) however I think the world wide sales numbers are what is gonna be the determining factor on how this design has performed. While the US market if of course important, I think growth among the LS models is going to happen in world markets like China, and some European markets. I think a plug option for the LS500h would go a long way.
Is this your first ever LS vehicle?

Luxury segment > $100k is very broad range of high end cars. You can go all the way up to a Rolls Royce type of luxury if you want.Originally Posted by LexsCTJill

Anything 6 figures and up comes down to what the buyer wants because they can have their choice of the lot and not feel the squeeze of the month to month payment or maintenance involvement. If it is a must have to do sub 4 second 0-60, then so be it. It narrows down the car choices quickly and take your pick on the exterior style that suits you best or gives you the best ride. How much damage it does to your wallet doesn't really come into the equation if they want it, especially if it is a rare model (may even want it more for this 'rare air' that no one else has).
Luxury really means getting what you want and how much you will enjoy it!

I agree with what you are saying. However, luxury could be very different to any different buyer. Originally Posted by All4Lexus
