Air struts
I had been looking at a used LS460, milage didn't bother me however pretty much all the ones I saw had severe seat leather wear, so am now considering a post facelift LS500. The ones I'm finding all have air suspension, I'm familiar with this from Mercedes and have bought Arnott parts with good results, according to Arnott's website they don't make struts for the LS500. Furthermore, the Lexus parts are approx. three times the price of the MB ones.
So, my questions, what sort of life are people seeing for the struts, has anyone found/tried a service that rebuilds the struts.
Thanks in advance,
Peter
It scared me off and I did not seek a 2019 that had air ride.
I did not even test drive one. Thus I can't say I know what I am missing. I found the "Base" with 20's and other goodies more than acceptable.
Just got off the road having driven 5 hours each in two days and just love this car! 56k miles now and just a pleasure coming up 3 years ownership in a few weeks.
Wood and leather steering wheel
Mark Levinson Audio System with 23-Speakers
20” wheels
All Weather Floor Liners with Cargo Tray
AWD
That’s all I needed. A friend had just spent $1,800 on air suspension on a GX, so that was the first thing I marked off my list.
I love my ‘20 more every day. No ugly touch screen protruding from the dash. I love Apple CarPlay. I added tint to front door glass. My car gets Zaino once a month. It gets a lot of looks. I especially like the exclusivity. You don’t see LS500s on every corner.
Git rid of the runflats tires. Follow the book on maintenance, but change the oil and filter every 6,000 miles. Run it in Sport+ mode. It’s a 13 second car. Enjoy.

The headlight design is different. some likek the old one better.
Touch screen? Nice add but some think it awkward.
I was more centric to getting a low mileage car in color combo.
Sajack model is what I have have and was a very popular build.
When you start checking off the boxes of what you want its not always easy to find.
I never found a color combo in Fsport with AWD as I wanted it. I was not a fan of the red interior of the Fsport.
ALso the seats and trim of the FSport is subjective to its ower.
Price also matters. LIke all of us you'll find your price points and whats available find the ride that makes you satisfied.
Happy hunting!!!

If you are expecting the same running costs as an Sclass you will be very shocked and disappointed with the LS500.

Maybe you can break down running costs of S class with similar equipment with and without air suspension and help the OP out? Maybe also give some statistics of the claim that you made?
The OP is doing his "Diligence" regarding what is known to be an expenisve fix. Many of us have done similar and go into ownership with eyes wide open. I don't see any history of LS500 ownership by you. Can you maybe give us some basis for your comment?
