V35A Recall
Hopefully it will never expand to cover our cars, but will it affect future buyers’ desire to purchase a vehicle with this engine?
I’m afraid if I were car shopping I would look for something else.
I think I will bump my oil and filter changes to 5,000 mile intervals.
I really hate that this happened.
We purchased a new Audi 5000 prior to the unintended acceleration debacle. Although there was nothing wrong with the car, Audi even changed the name of the car. Bad press can really do a lot of damage to a product’s reputation.

Most casual owners won't even know about it. bottom line is we are not having issues do to that recall and im not reading much in these pages about any failures or bad issues with our motor? Granted, we don't have a large crowd here nor many with high miles on the cars.
In my opinon the LS500 has depreciated pretty much given its a car and not an SUV which do better.
In my view, two years ago in hot used car market my 36 month old GS350 with a MSRP of 60k I sold for 40k to dealer with 25k on odo. Car as we know was discontinued. I paid 49k for it brand new. Then Covid demand hit few months later driving up prices.
Bought from another dealer my LS500 with 28k that MSRP for 94K and paid 56k with taxes . Basically I sold high and bought low. I'd think LS500 values are not doing much better if not worse now.
The world wants Suv's. I'd think most luxury sedans are not holding up like Trucks including the Germans.
Can we blame the recall? Are you selling your car any time soon?
A 40 minute video is no big deal for me it it’s something I am interested in.
Tundra and LX engines are the same basic engine as my car, so I’m interested in what could be a future issue for what is likely the last car I will ever buy.
This motor been in our LS500 since 2017 and we are not seeing these issues.
Not the ticking timebomb that is with the Tundra, Sequoia and LX motors.
some guilt by association I suppose but if not, and its your last car, then little to worry.
The V8's have years of track record. is there anything to say ours won' the a good one also? I get Turbo's are a different story but if our engine blocks are not "dirty", need we be concerned about Domestic Japan built motors in the LS?
