Hey I'm new to the forums here
I bought a 5qt bottle of Mobil1 full synthetic oil and accidentally drop some part of the cover that was covering the hole of the jug into the oil. Would anything bad happen to the engine if I pour in that cover piece along with the oil? Or should I try to filter out the cover piece?

Yes something bad will happen if the plastic ring falls into your engine.

 

filter it, use a pantyhose make sure no debris should enter your engine

 

don't let that foil covering on the jug fall in there dude. filter it with cheese cloth

 

I would also pour it into a clear jug or bottle before I tried to dump it in engine.
