Gen 4 w/ air compared to Gen 5 without
Hey All
I have a 2010 460 L with air suspension and it rides like a dream. I am considering upgrading to a 500 without air suspension. Has anyone on this board done the same? If so are you happy with the standard suspension. I have driven the standard on a test drive and it feels fairly comparable but I am concerned that the difference will stand out on long road trips. Any experience is greatly appreciated - do not want to take a step back.

I bought mine with 27k miles on it, owe nothing on it and plan on keeping it a long time and while "air" is a better ride, I found the car still an excellent purchase. There is a world were more options don't raise the price or by much. For the same money I could have had one with Air, rear lux package, and the duel glass roof. It had just 7k miles more.
Thus, I choose the lessor ride for POTENTIAL less maintenance. If I was just keeping it a few years I might have thought otherwise.

We tend to advocate for our own decisions when we do this but there is simply not one rule that guides our choices.
Some folk have to have an extended warranty. It sucks to have payments on a car and be without it.
But since I don't have payments, and drive about 10k per year on the car, im not sure its a good use of funds.
Again, some people it makes perfect sense to have one.
Bottom line is this is a luxury car and a simple indulgence.
