Synthetic oil change
Show must go on!
So, I'm succumbing to peer pressure, ads, youtubers and fancy packaging:
Decided that my next oil change going to be Amsoil 0W-20 synthetic.
Previously my '11 AWD only seen LGMO/Exxon 0W-20 XS formula oil and OCI is every 6000km (well, before me it was low grade 5W-40 which ruined both heads and I replaced those. since then - LGMO only).
My engine does not consume a drop of oil and is currently at about 80k miles on odo.
Amsoil and most other US oils are not readily available in our parts, but I was quite pleased that Amsoil was in stock locally and not much pricier than LGMO (guilty, getting that at laughable 10usd per 1L in drums).
What can I expect? If anything? That's a pure experiment for me, please understand the hesitation. I have no engine problems at this moment and it pulls like a mother trucker.

Its insanely good at everything except cost and availability. Everything they make is a true group 4 synthetic and consistently the best period. I use their stuff for everything other than engine oil due to cost and annoyance, only exceptions are the advanced trans since I'm still not willing to risk my 8 speeds. It noticeably reduces drag in winter in diffs etc

It's just I vaguely recollect switching from tgmo to Idemitsu brand oil in my LS430 with plenty of miles. But I do remember engine becoming at least little bit quieter.
So, biting the bullet (Amsoil) approx. next month when oil change time comes. And yes, as Gerf said, it's going to cost me about 200 USD.

Amsoil 0w-20 as well as the Amsoil oil filter. I had sent my oil in for an analysis to Blackstone labs at different intervals (5K,10K, and 15K) . Oil was still great at 15K.

My bus conversion has a detroit diesel 8v71 and takes about 7 GALLONS of straight 40wt oil (getting hard to find) and can see running a test. But on my 12 ls460 I just use Kirkland 0w20 every 5-7k miles only costing me about $50 in parts including OEM filter. At 250k+ miles does not lose/burn a drop and is pretty darn clean. Will take a picture at next change.

wife is Ill. No time to change things that often. 15 to 20k miles a year users. 15k or more OCI or 1 year will help on time
I was amazed the the 460 took 2 gallons of oil, but it's got nothing on the truck engines! Hope your wife pulls through.
