Car flashes and beeps fine when unlocking the car but no flash or beep when locking the car now i have heard about the door actuator failing but all the doors are actually getting locked and non of them is open any suggestions ?

 

Don't believe my '11 LS ever beeped. When I bought it, I was advised to have the mirrors rotate inward thereby indicating the car was locked.

 

Mine always flashed once and beeped once when i locked the doors. And twice if unlocked. Ya i recently switched to auto mirrors and thought this mite be the problem but i change the setting and its still the same thing

 

I think there is a volume button under the dash, driver side. Might be at very low volume

 

There are custom driver settings that can be changed by dealer, tech stream or Carista app with dongle for OBD2. The door settings are amongst the choices.

 

If it was beeping before. Then it could be the lock for one or more doors not working.

 

Thats the point it was working fine before i dont think its the beep volume because the car is not flashing lights too . And the settings cant change on its own

 

If it's not flashing , most probably one of the door center locks are failing ..

 

Anyway to find out the culprit door ?

 

There's a known issue with the plunger switch for the door. It can affect other systems. Try a search.

 

Seems puzzling it operates normally when unlocking but not locking. Since I do not know of any procedural settings within the car or exactly how the multiplex modules interact with the alarm flashes & beeps/door locks, I would try disconnecting/connecting the 12V battery to see if that resets and corrects it.

 

Just now i was with my friend and wanted to show him how my car is acting up we walk towards the car .i demonstarte him that unlocking car makes the car beep and flash and locking it dosent do the same. Out of no where i just switched the beep button off and turned it on again and the car started to work normal . Thats strange

 

Start the car then exit the door. Open all four doors. Your center display should show which doors are open. If one doesn't show as open then first try multiple push/release on that door's sensor to see if it now shows in the center display. If you can't get it to come back you might need to replace the sensor.

 

How did you do that? Mine is doing the same thing.
