Default Question on wheel bearings

Hi all,

I have an 07 460 regular wheelbase with 140,000 miles

Can anyone give me an idea how long wheel bearings last on this car, typically?

Should one replace with new all four when planning on keeping this car a long time, only put on about 8000 miles a year.

And lastly, how expensive is it to have a bearing replace, and not at a dealer as just cannot afford their prices.

Appreciate any thoughts

Being such a heavy car, they can and do go bad. Hard to predict, they could last past 200k. Price wise, call around your area, that's the only price that matters. You could also do a forum search about bearing replacement. Here's a link https://www.clublexus.com/how-tos/a/...bearing-362157
It looks like doing 4 wheels might be over 6-8 hours of labor.

They do go bad. If you ignore items like ball joints or control arms, it can make them go bad faster. I have 109k on my 08 LS460 and had 2 bad bearings in front. I had all 4 replaced at my local independent Lexus/Toyota shop (not a dealer) for around $1,000 with quality aftermarket (Timken-O.E. Supplier for Toyota) bearings.

Did you happen to notice where the Timken ones are made?

sounds very good price, considering that Timken bearing cost $260 each.
