Default Wheel bearing

Hi guys
i have 2004 rx330 ,all wheel drive ,90k miles
started to hear droning noise at speed 30-40 miles then getting louder, put trany in neutral, same noise so I suspected a shot bearing, after lifting the car I have the passenger rear tire with some play when moving it side to side but not any other one
Is that the bad one?
thank you

My money is on that too, usually play is a sign of a failing bearing. BUT, I would replace in pairs, when one fails, the other will most likely be right behind it.

Yeah, I'd do that a on the front being pressed in to the spindle.....Rears are easier to do.....I'd just replace the one thats bad for the rear.

FYI, I had a left front wheel bearing go and only replaced the one, failed wheel bearing. That was 30K miles ago. No problems with the OEM right side. I'd only replace the wheel bearing that failed. YMMV.

The right rear failed on our AWD RX330. I asked the tech about replacing both and they recommended only replacing the bad one. That was at 199k and the vehicle is coming up on 260k. Based upon my experience, I would only replace the bad one.

That's true. Left and right sides are not correlated.
PS: Only tires, brakes and struts have to be replaced "by pair".

I just bought an 07 and around 40+mph I'll get the mud tires on hwy sound. Doesn't get louder with speed or turning though. Sounds like its the right side, so I guess I'll jack it up and shake the wheel and see if there's play. The tires have 10k on them, albeit their an off brand.
