Default Side Mirror Cover - Paint

I have some blemishes on my passenger side mirror cover and am removing the cover and will bring it in to have it painted at the body shop. The shop is quoting me $120 for the work in Mercury Metallic. Seems high to me, what do you guys think?

Do it. If it's a Lexus body-shop, it's worth it.

I know the Lexus body-shop color matched mine perfectly.

I never got the bill. Carmax hooked it up. Sorry, I know that didn't help. LOL

Call the lexus body shop and ask anyway. It's always good to just compare prices before you pull he trigger.

I bought a can of matched spray and clear coat and did mine myself. You can sand it down and primer it. Lots cheaper.

Hey brother, another alternative here that I used a couple of years ago on a Tungsten Pearl (silver) 2007 ES350 with good results. I removed the mirror (had light scuff through the clear coat and to the base), and lightly sanded it then cleaned. Applied the base then the clear according to instructions and let it dry overnite. Next day compared the mirror to the other side and decided it needed another coat or two of clear to match the gloss. Turned out pretty good, and the base coat Tungsten Pearl was a close enough to perfect match.

Thank you everybody for the thoughts and links. I most likely will attempt this myself once I get through my suspension work and have some time to focus on it. I will post pictures if I end up going the DIY route.

You don't need a perfect match for a mirror cover. It's not like a fender or door - you'll never notice a small mismatch.

So it turns out that I had some time over the weekend to complete some detailing work on my LS and was able to remove the blemishes on the mirror cover with my rotary polisher. No need for paint now, but thanks anyway to everyone that contributed thoughts.

No photos, no proof it ever happened! LMAO

So how much did you end up billing yourself for the work?
