Question Trunk Won't Open - 2012 Lexus 460 LS

I cannot get my trunk to pop open at all. FOB button is not working and neither is the button in the car. Sucks! $250 deductible to take it in for warranty fix. What can I do to avoid that?

Did you check the button in the glove box ? This will disable that feature, for like valet etc. so no one unwanted could get in your trunk.

Yeah I checked it with the button in the glove box. With the button detent and without it is still not opening. I hear a beep when the FOB is active but the trunk won't pop open. Thinking it could be a computer issue and I want to unplug the battery but not sure what effect that will have on the car. Just bought it in Nov 19 with only 25K mile on it. If I disconnect the battery will I have to re enter the codes to get the Nav and stereo back working?

not if you unplug it a few minutes after turning car off. It’s in the manual i don’t remember I say give it 15 after you turn car off, don’t turn anything on it will save everything and then you can disconnect the battery

The LS trunk latch has a closing mechanism to softly but completely pull down the trunk lid.
If something was on the trunk sill as the lid was being drawn down it could now be causing
the latch to be under too much resistance to open.
Try to carefully but strongly press down on both sides of the trunk lid to compress any such
obstruction and then trigger the latch.
