I think I’ve put around 15k miles on the Centric rotors and pads now. Besides the black painted rotor hats fading in the front (possible due to heat while car is idling for long period of time), the car stops smoothly and very little brake dust. It’s nuts to compare but I feel the LS brakes much smoother and faster than the brakes on my M5. Haha

All in all, the Centric rotors and pads will suffice all the needs unless you want drilled and slotted rotors for looks.

The heat of the car idling is nothing compared to how hot the rotors get from braking. I bet Centric would replace those rotors.

Yes, that’s true in a sense. But if the car is moving, it’s also cooling the rotors. When it’s idling during summer months after a drive, the rotors aren’t cooling down as fast. I should clarify that part of the rotor hats are rusted and faded. Overall, can’t beat the performance for the price paid.

With that said, I’d go with slotted rotors next time if I still have the car then.

The engine's internal temperature gets to maybe 220 degrees. All the way down by the wheels, its no hotter than a summer day, thats not causing that discoloration.

Interested to know why...

Oh just for look. Slotted rotors would look nicer on the 20’s wheels and painted calipers.

Uh.......just get normal ones to avoid the slots building up material if not driven hard?

They definitely look better, as do cross drilled rotors but the negatives aren't worth the look.

I just looked on rock auto for my 2010, and cannot find the "touring package", only sport. My car is a long wheel base so it has the bigger brakes.

the touring package brake rotors are more rare than the standard. Few aftermarket company's make them . Or go OEM. Send me the VIN I will confirm.

AWD models use the touring package rotors, they are the same but don't take my word for it.

When I tried changing my rear rotors with centric touring edition, they didn't fit & was massive, so I'm guessing its either sport or standard on a 08 460L
