Default 2010 LS460 low beam advice for replacement

Hi guys,

I know... there are a bazillion topics on bulbs for the low beams but I couldn't find my specific questions answered in my searching so I'll try asking here.

I just added a smoke colored tint film to the headlamps to make them look new and match the tint on my windows. The problem is the lamps are now slightly dimmer, and it's enough for me to investigate replacing them. I purchased this car used and so I am not sure what bulb to get: LED or Xenon. What I don't want to do is add any conversion kits. I just want to make the beams brighter than the standard bulbs in it now.

I found a great guide for bulb types here: http://www.modifiedlife.com/2010-lex...-size-diagram/

But that doesn't really answer my questions about whether or not I need to get an LED or Xenon. As an aside, trusted brands would be great too if you have experience with that. Also, if anyone has a great guide on how best to replace them that would be an added bonus.

Thank you!

Thanks for that totally non-sarcastic reply! It's a light tint, btw and the OEM, stock lights were not all that bright to begin with so it won't take much. I found these on Amazon:
Amazon Amazon
so apparently there are differences in light output depending on the Xenon bulbs you get.

I'm also interested in replacing the yellow and dim halogen high beams with LED's (I don't think I can go Xenon here, can I?) and the fog lights I believe are the same story. Would like to have white light for all the front beams. What are the best solutions for those?

Another question: On the 2010 which bulbs are used for the daytime running lights? I don't know if mine are even working.

I will wait for more sarcastic answers... or maybe someone will be nice.

Different HID bulbs will impact the color temp of the lights, but wont really improve light output. You can certainly buy silly high color temp HID bulbs that will REDUCE light output, but the OEM bulbs have about the most light output you're going to get.

I replaced mine with a set of Osram CBI bulbs that had a little higher color temp and supposedly more llumens. The light was a little "whiter" but I wouldnt say there was more light output.

Not going for the colors as that would, as you pointed out, reduce my light output. We'll see how the OSRAM Xenarc Night Breaker Laser D2S goes. It's a bright white. I'll come back after the install for an update and let you know whether or not it made any difference. I'm also going to replace both my high beam/daytime running lights and fogs with these: Lumen® - G10 LED Headlight Conversion Kit.

Update: Replacing just the fog lights with bright white LED's made all the difference in the world. No need to replace the HID as I get very good coverage with both running. Problem solved!
