Default Replacement for a LS460 lost keyless remote fob

I lost the only remote keyless fob for my 2007 ls460 and I'm desperate to get a replacement. How do I go about it. Some suggested I buy a remote fob online with a programmer and have it reprogrammed. Others say I can buy a used engine computer, with the smart key and the remote fob that comes with it. Anybody, please with experience on this? By the way, I don't know why but the VIN of my ride cannot be found in the locations its supposed to be. ???

Hi Dennis,

I did order a used fob (don't have the part # now) and the T300 programmer was recommended to me to reprogramme the fob. Had one ordered from Alibaba. After connecting to the OBD and switching the T300 on, I followed the prompts. I could only access the Proximity feature. Program keys, Erase keys, Reset Immobilizer, ID Reg End Start and ID Reg Smart Box are listed. Entering each of this resulted in out codes given and the message; "PLEASE GAIN AUTHORZATION FROM AD" and the request for in codes to be entered. Anyway after some frustrating attempts, I gave up and thus I'm here in the Club seeking assistance. Am I using the correct programmer and If so, am I missing something?

Each type of Lexus key FOB has an FCC ID. Any replacement key FOB needs to have that same FCC ID or else the car's computer won't recognize it. I've had to replace a lost key FOB. The dealer charged me $300 for the key FOB and the programming.

Where did your car originate from? Its odd that you don't have any VIN number in the usual places.

You could try calling your local locksmiths. Mine says they can reprogram a Subaru spare key, don't know about Lexus.

You should be able to get a 2nd fob programmed and key cut for less than $200. Please check my post #5 in the following thread.
