Default Climate Control Only full hot or full cold, 08 460L

Hello everyone, I purchased a 2008 LS460L 3 months ago with 208k miles, I am having a strange issue with my climate control, the vents in the front and back of the car are only blowing either fully hot or fully cold air and no in between like any other AC system i have had. The car has the 4 zone climate control, I have replaced both front and rear cabin filters and fixed the recirc door, as it was popped off due to someone forcing it up at some point. I have gone through the car with techstream to sort other issues and i have never seen any codes in the climate control computer other than B1421, B1424 and B1428 which are the solar sensors and i have read that is normal if it is dark outside when you scan it, if I'm wrong please let me know. I stumbled upon a climate control servo calibration in the utility of techstream so i did that and i didn't hear anything abnormal coming from the mix box servos and they all sounded smooth.

i would like to know if anyone here has experienced anything like this, or if their car is the same and that is how lexus did these cars for some reason

thank you!

Clearly there is something wrong, Lexus didn’t design it this way. It may be the air mix servo motors that control the air damper. I have replaced them in my Lexus RX. Look here.....

Could you take the glove compartment off and see what the part number is on your AC amplifier? From my research into something similar this seems to be an issue with some of the 4 zone climate control models.

I would check the outside temperature sensor. I've heard stories of these failing on earlier LS's and causing havoc with the CC system.

Sounds like a feature. That's how I keep mine 365 days a year and just hit Off when I've had enough. Keeps it exciting. Sometimes I put it on Dual for the wife on those rare occassions she's in the car.

I just did a drain and fill a couple of days ago. My coolant level is full. I also flushed and reverse flushed the heater core as well. I do see my servos move when I adjust temp. I am unable to find those codes anywhere online.

does heat work while you are driving 40mph+? if so, you have an air pocket in there.

There is also a vent plug on the radiator hose that you need to open to burp the system and refill after with coolant.

Thanks so much for the info. I did bleed the system and did fill from the radiator vent. I also drove it over 100 miles at fwy speed and it didn't help.
