Angry Techstream crashes when I access Data under TPMS

I have been attempting to change the tpms sensors on my LS.

I am a little unsure under the options tabs on which ones I should be using. I set "-1209" others, others for my 2007 LS460.
I made a few adjustments using the software. Cleared DTCs. Programmed a new key.

Lastly I attempted to program in 5 new tpms IDs.

If I try to access data for the section the software crashes.
If I attempt to program the IDs I get to the end of the process and it says there is a communication error. I then short TC to CG as instructed and attempt again at which time I get the same error.

I shorted tc to cg 3 times yesterday and attempted to program IDs 6 times.

Everything else seems to work fine.

If anyone can help I would appreciate it. I am very frustrated and spent several hours working on the system.

Thanks

Rich

Update:

Techstream crashes if I access any "data" tab. Also crashes during the health check and select " store data" box.

Any help would be appreciated.

If you experienced crashes in any data tab within Techstream, the version of your Techstream has issues with your Windows operating system (unstable driver). You may need to try a different version of Techstream (i.e., remove the current Techstream along with its driver from your computer and install a new version of Techstream). BTW, which version is your Techstream and which version of Windows OS are you using? In my case, I found that Techstream Version 10 works most reliably on my Windows 32-bit Vista or 32-bit WinXP/SP3 laptops.

I have windows 7 pro 64 bit. TS 13.xxx
Would running the pc in xp emulator help with communication or should I look for an XP machine for cheap?

Usually, 64-bit OS tends to have more stability issues (driver issues) than 32-bit OS with Techstream. I haven't used virtual PC's (emulation) to run Techstream and don't know how stable it is or if Techstream will like the virtually mapped USB port in the virtual PC. Instead, if you are comfortable with Windows and software installation, you can avoid buying a new (old WinXP) laptop by creating a new partition on your existing Win7 laptop's hard drive, allocate 30-50GB to the new partition, and install Win7 32-bit on the new partition. You may legitimately download Win7 Pro 32-bit OS from Microsoft website (extended support ends in January 2020). Since your are installing a Win7 Pro 32-bit OS on the same laptop, your existing Win7 Pro license key is valid and you can legitimately use Win7 Pro 32-bit OS by dual booting it. Then, you can install and use Techstream on the Win7 Pro 32-bit partition. Make sure that you download and install Win7 Pro 32-bit on the new hard drive partition; otherwise your existing Win7 Pro license key won't work.

I don't feel I am talented enough to make the partition and run dual OS.

I contacted the seller of my TS. They offered a different version. I will try to get it up and running this weekend.

Thanks

13XX crashes when you look at live data. Downgrade to the latest 12.

I could not get my Techstream to work either. Failed at last step just like you described. I ended up buying a Autel MaxiTPMS TS501 and it worked like a charm.
I believe Discount Tire Direct will program the sensors for no charge.

Visitor here I have a 2014 IS350. I had been fighting to get the tpms sensors to work with my techstream too. It never did. I tried:

Virtual machine on Macbook
Windows 7 64 bit (had to borrow this)
Windows xp 32 bit (had to buy used laptop for 20 bux)

Everything else in Techstream worked except for the programming the tpms sensor. At the end I did the same thing as you and dished $150 cdn to program them. I was spending too much time and it was not worth it. Good luck.

I rolled back to TS 12.00.1278 I believe. Everything workd including the data except the TPMS wehich failed in the last step. The system says it is in initializing mode????

I will look into cost to program the TPMS through a vendor.

Any other suggestions.
