LS460 Values Nosediving
Car is a depreciating asset in general. New/lease car would make sense for business write-off and "lightly" used would make sense for long-term (10+ years) ownership (unless you are made of money
.
Bought my 1st Lexus, LS 460 a few days ago from a Lexus dealer. L/Certified 2016 SWB White/Grey with 31k miles for $43855 ($47k out the door). It is my dd and plan to keep it for next 10 years.
So far I love the ride and getting used to of all the bells and whistles it got.

I wish they would nosedive more. I see articles/videos from 3 or 4 years ago talking about how a 2010 Ls460 under $20k is the best luxury buy out there. Now here we are 4 years later and there’s still not a ton of them under $20k except for ones that have high mileage.
Do you guys think a lightly optioned (Comfort package only, nothing else) 2010 with 65k miles is worth $19k, $22k OTD after all the fees and taxes? It’s one owner and in mostly good shape, just a couple very minor cosmetic defects. Has not had control arms replaced as far as I can tell.
This still seems a bit high to me, but it’s at one of those “no haggle” dealers, which is a policy that really only benefits the dealer IMO.

Seems a bit high to me. And its a luxury car, so it would make sense to get one with all the luxury items.
"Out The Door" pricing is pretty meaningless (unless it includes dealer "documentation fee") as it's mostly taxes and registration, which vary by state.

About half of the additional $3k is taxes. The rest is doc fee ($800), title fee ($150), tag/registration (estimated at $678, which seems really high for my state). So yeah that doc fee is the main thing that's under their control, aside from the price of the car itself.

But without pics, it didn't happen."
I have a Lexus 2011 LS 460 L AWD with 30,464 miles on it and it was always serviced at the Lexus dealer. Last week I was offered $45,000 for it and said no thank you
This car is in mint condition so where could I get such a dependable car with classic looks for under $80,000 (mine cost $87,000) the BMW was $126,000
The oil was replaced every 3,000 miles, engine coolant replaced 2 years ahead of schedule and all 4 all-weather tires also replaced two weeks ago.
The reason for such low mileage is the LS is my winter and bad weather car as it is dependable and handles snow easily
On the other side of the coin, I have a 2016 BMW 750 I X drive M sport package which is a great car in dry weather and on long-distance driving with all the bells and whistles. If Lexus did not change the grill I would have bought my 4th Lexus instead of the BMW

Welcome to the sedan apocalypse, virus edition. The 500s aren't selling at all, I've been seeing them slip into the 60k regions. I think MY 13 has lost almost 10k in value since I browsed them last year.

Wholesale on a car like that with those miles and a perfect 5.0 CR is 23,400 and retail would NEVER exceed $30k. Even for a car with the executive package and it'd take that to get it there. If this really did happen, you need to call whoever made that offer and go take his money. $45K will buy you the same car in a 2017 model with the same miles. #FACT
Take your car in and ask for a trade in value. Then cry all the way home!
As for the guy who claims he was offered $45,000 for a 2011............. internet troll.
