The default screen will be the Nav screen or a Black Screen. It is possible to customize the Black screen (Display OFF) to show an image of your choice, say a family photo, that can be uploaded.

In my 09 LS, I can turn off the "go back to gps after audio" feature. Tried it yesterday and took a 60 mile trip today and it stayed on audio the entire trip.
So I have toggled on/off the "return to map" display option on my '07, but when turning the car on it still defaults to map. However, at one point it did stay on the audio screen for a few weeks, at one point it stopped and I have no clue if/how to get it back to "sticking" to the screen it was last on. Anyone find any tricks? I have to beleive there is some possibility since it did it on mine for a while. Thanks all.

yep, mine I said doing the same. For the first week or so it would stay on audio for while. I noticed that once I marked "home" on the gps, it always goes to navy screen when I pull back into my driveway. Sometimes for no apparent reason it will bounce back to nav from audio while cruising on the interstate. Strange.
Sometimes I notice that, if I'm on the audio screen and I look over at a pretty girl in a car next to me and I smile, it goes back to the Nav screen. So, the trick is, stop looking at pretty girls and all of your problems will go away. Jus sayin'
