On the 600h, Transfer case and rear differential fluids replaced. Apparently the front differential fill plug is obstructed by the rack and pinion so that would be an extra 150 in labor cost and the mechanic wasn't planning on that time for the job. Will look into doing another time. First fluid service on the differential and transfer case at 127k miles. Total was $110 and completed in less than 30 minutes.

Highly recommend Dynamic Auto Services now in Fountain Valley for SoCal Lexus drivers.

On the road in St. Louis on a cloudy and rainy Friday. Couldn't help but appreciate the hulking and imposing presence of the LWB car.

Rack and pinion is in the way, but it's not impossible to get out. Made my own "hex plug" by chopping the end of an Allen key off just long enough so it would fit in the plug and fill the end of a box wrench. With that it came out easily.

Got my driver's rear tire patched after running over a bolt in the office parking lot. Found out that I was missing the lug wrench, so I will be placing one for the occasion in the future.

Last owner's mechanic had indicated that the valve cover gaskets and spark plug seals ought to be replaced at 121k miles as they noticed oil on the spark plugs after replacing them all at the 120k service. Also my front upper control arm bushings are deteriorated. I often read about the FIGS bushings and getting them pressed into the Mevotech arms but noticed that this only address the forward facing ones not the rearward arms. I can't find the upper rearward arms for sale other than OEM. The cheapest I've found for all OEM upper control arms driver and passenger side, forward and rearward are just under 1K USD for parts alone.

If you're going to be pressing bushings, just have them pressed into your OEM arms. There's nothing wrong with the arms themselves.

Make sure you check the play in the ball joints. Mine were very loose when i changed them out.

Replaced rear brake pads and rotors. Centric premium rotors and posi-quiet pads. Easy enough job, used bolts in the holes to free the rotors which worked great.

Nice! Those looked well past the end of their service life. How many miles?

Where did you find the best price for the parts?

Got them on Rock Auto. I have 225k miles on my 2008. The pads were low but still had some friction material. Did pass state safety inspection 2 months ago. Rotors are probably original. Service notes from Lexus look like pads were changed at 180k. Brakes well now and can drive it like I'm racing again.

Drove Bernuli 360 miles today to my sons' home in Kansas City. I am totally blown away by this vehicle. Cruises at 80 like you are driving at 50, quiet, easy and sublime ride and with the ML audio and streaming Zac Brown Band thru BT Amazon music, the time flew by. We arrived without being fatigued.

I can't imagine ever owning a different vehicle and am so glad I purchased this one. To me, walking away from the deal because of a grand or two is silly given the performance, ride and experience. I really love this car!

My wife's RX350 is nice but the 460 is near perfect.
