Programming TPMS sensors
Long story short - wife finally got tired at looking at the warning lights on the dashboard due to tpms (have 2 sets of wheels and the winters are programmed in). Since I bought the winter set from Discount Tire, I went there to have them reprogram the ECU with the new/old sensors. After few minutes, the guy doing the work says that the computer is not accepting the programming and that these cars are known to be temperamental. Something tells me he’s simply not doing it right (same store had no problem programming the winter set), but I’m not quite sure how to tell him that. Any specific procedure that needs to be followed? I told him about the “set/reset” button under the dash, and he claims he did press it.

This doesn't answer your question, but my recommendation would be to update one set of wheels with cloned sensors. (They program in the same IDs that your other set has, so you can change them without reprogramming the car). I called a local tire company and they said they'd be able to do that for me when I purchase my winter tires/wheels.
