So after some two months with my 07 LS I am still in the discovery phase.
I have pulled up on the side lever and raised the driver's seat as high as it will go, took a flashlight and looked real good under the front seat and I can see......nothing...nothing at all that looks like a removable cover hiding an air filter, just various mechanical stuff.
No Utube videos mentioning replacing the seat air filter, and the previous owner had not idea it has one or that it has a cabin air filter, I did manage to find that!
as he had all servicing done every 5000 miles from new at the dealer.
Is there really a seat air filter? If so where the hell is it hiding? Thanks again!
I think it's a filter that prevents dust from getting sucked into the fan that circulates air to the seats. Check post #s 40 and 62 in the following thread.
thank you for the suggestion, I found this helpful quote on reply 62
So I was all excited that replacing these filters would increase my cooling power. Well, yes the filter is a bit dirty, but there is no restriction on air flow. I doubt that if these were extemely dirty that there would be any air flow restriction. These filters just keep large material out of the fan, ducts, and seats. They really don't catch or hold much dirt. I highly doubt these will ever be replaced in my car.

Love this thread! Thank you so much for the great information. Same as others, my seats were not really cool. After taking the filters out replacing them, they perform far better! Well done.
Lucky you who got small hands - if you do it's a 1 minute job. Raise seat, reach under, untwist, twist new/clean one on. Done.
Me, on the other hand (as in big hand haha) have to ask a boy every time.
OP, suggest not reusing washed filters if, as posted, it reduces air flow, since I suspect it will stress the blower fan, just as a dirty filter will. Lexus charged about $500 to replace the seat blower fan on the driver's side of my LS.

Agreed. The filter is about 15 bucks (and you'll need 2 - one for each seat) but you replace them every few years unless you're a heavy smoker.
