Default chrome peel inside wheels ?

I purchased an 11 LS460 with 39k miles 3 months ago at my local Lexus dealer. The car came with a 2 year L Certified Lexus warranty. Anyway will Lexus cover chrome peel on the inside of my wheels? The car came with FACTORY CHOME WHEELS. My cost through Discount tire is for 4 wheels is $600 if I can't get Lexus to pay for all or at least part of the repair.

I am lost here. Your first statement says Lexus will cover, your next statement you are saying that will not? Lexus wheels are know to rest and peal. I had a Toyota dealer tell me once how bad the quality is on there wheels. They have had a lot of complaints from cars they have sold. The one thing he told me was Toyota will not help pay for any wheels. I wish you luck on your complaint.

The surest way to tell is to read your warranty. However, I am pretty sure a cosmetic issue such as that would not be covered.

Be sure to let us know.

I appreciate your input. I had the same problems with my LS430 chrome wheels. Over time corrosion occurs which cause the tires to loose pressure. To me its more than cosmetic?

So Lexus did not offer a chrome wheel option on the LS460. So, if your wheels are chrome, they were chromed aftermarket either by the previous owner or the dealership that sold it to him (very common in states like Texas, etc). Lexus won't cover that unfortunately.

They were chromed aftermarket by the dealership. There is no such thing as a factory chrome wheel for the LS460. They offered a couple of smoked PVD wheels such as the Teleos 18s and the Neiman Marcus 19s, but those aren't plated chrome and thus would not peel.

If sold and installed by the dealer they would have been covered by the original 4yr/50k warranty, but won't be covered by the CPO warranty I'm sure.

This is the wheels page from the 2011 LS460 brochure. As you can see the only wheel described as "chrome finished" are the very rare 15 spoke wheels, and those are actually PVD not plated. The other wheels are only available in a painted finish, and the Teleos wheels are PVD.

OP, without pics it's hard for members here to assess - but you'll have to check with your dealer to see what the CPO warranty will cover - IMO - if this was per-existing (and you can prove it) surely is should be covered, but proving when it started happening and what is causing it could prove difficult. Respectfully assess with your dealer and see what they say. Worst case, appeal for a wheel repair at a discounted rate.
You are wright I did miss read it. oops
