Default Night View System

Has anyone ever used the LS 460 night view system? It is in my manual for the 2014. So I assume it comes with the 2013-2017 models, but not sure about earlier. Does it display a forward view camera?

The manual includes features that are not present on every car. The Night View was discontinued after the 2013/4 MY. In any case, it was available only in vehicles with the advanced PCS option with the stereo cameras behind the rearview mirror and infrared lights. If you have this option, look for the button on the dash next to the trip meter and meter reset buttons. It displays the front-facing stereo cameras with infrared image superimposed on it. In your 2014 manual, check pages 20 and 334.

We had a 2013 GS350 with the Night View system in new car stock. It worked pretty well at
detecting warm bodies and displayed a ghostly grey on grey screen. Cadillac had the feature
at that time as well, seems that everybody discontinued it after a year or so.

I remember when my buddy's Audi A6 (or was it the S6?) had it, just like what mcomer said -and was pretty nifty, but I do not know if they still offer that across their platforms.

A bit off topic but this post made me think of one of my past cars. Saab had a button on the dash called "Night Panel" and it would turn off every lighted button and switch, all panel lights and gauges( except the speedo). The idea was to reduce glare and distractions while driving at night. I am very sensitive to light and that feature was very useful. For me, this would be more beneficial than any FLIR or radar system.
