Can you guys tell me when you turn off your car and turn it back does your climate setting change?
As in if i had my temp at hi and fan on low before turning off the car then shut it off then on the next day the setting stay the same or does it reverts back to 75 and fan off?
I tried to check the climate setting but nothing also my rear defogger dont seem to work. Im dropping off my car for some warranty work on tuesday and gonna bring this up. Just want to see what are your thoughts since this is my first lex lol
Your cabin air filter door is most likely damaged - hence your car probably sets to 75 degrees each time and turns off the A/C.
Someone tried to change the cabin air without putting it in recirculation mode which could have damaged the door. I would suggest checking the door. It might a simple fix as pushing the filter in or might have to take the dash apart to fix the door.

Well then that sucks, hopefully its not that. Is this under warranty? I just got the car 2 weeks ago its a cpo vehicle. And never used the climate control till recent and thought it was strange that everytime i restart the car it wouls set back to 75 .
If you have a CPO car, take it back to your Lexus dealer every time for any issues. If they are any good, they will fix all of these things under warranty.
Best case scenario it simply came unhinged. There are several threads around here with detailed pictures to help you pull the glovebox and check this. Shouldn't take more than an hour if you're mechanically inclined.
Thanks, the car is going in tomorrow. Ill let them deal with it. Im mechanically incline but dont want to mess with it and them telling me i broke it so ill just leave it to them
Taking it to a Lexus dealer or a random shop? The dealer would be your best bet in this case as they are most likely to be intimately familiar with the problem, BUT you might get into a situation where they try to sell you something you don't need if you don't have a good relationship with them.
Let me see if I can help you before you take it in, this should take all of 5 minutes and no tools.
Open and empty your glovebox, there should be a rectangular piece of black plastic at the back of the glovebox. Remove it and you should see either an "accordion" style flap or the cabin air filter. DO NOT TRY TO MANUALLY MOVE THE FLAP IF YOU SEE IT, THIS IS WHAT CAUSES THE PROBLEM TO BEGIN WITH Now, start your car with the glovebox open, let the climate control begin working, then press the recirculate button a few times, pausing in-between presses to allow the motor to function.
Does the accordion flap move? If not, what do you hear when you press it? Is it clicking, or do you hear the motor running?
Thanks, i just checked the cabin filter and the flap is closed. Ive hit the recirculate button and nothin happens does not open. Turn the fan on and press the recirc button still nothing. Its going to a lexus dealer. I dont have a relationship with the dealer yet as this is my first lexus i own. Hmm if its closed i wonder before they sold me this car(cpo) wouldnt they have to change or check the cabin filter in thier “161” point inspection before delivery? Oh well, we’ll see what they say tomorrow. Thanks again for your input!
Mike
Yep, sounds like the arm that connects the recirculation door to the motor has been disconnected. Easy to fix as it only involves removing some interior trim pieces and dropping the glovebox. If it's CPO it'll be covered anyway
Hope all works out - my climate control has stayed the same, it's left the same when I turn it back on (the vehicle that is) as when I originally shut off the car.
