Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 +
So today i decided on these tires as replacements for my Michelin HX MXM4. I know the tires everyone seems to love are the Pirelli Cinturato P7 All Season Plus but after a lot research i picked these and so far i am impressed. These tires are a redesign from the set that cam out in 2014 that did well except in light snow. 2016 the plus came out and corrected that flaw. So the reviews are less than the Pirellis as you can see below.
I think these are so close in all aspects to the Pirellis. From cost down all the way down. But so far the ride over the HX tires is night and day. Softer noise is less. The side wall is taller much like the P7s. The HX are alot more money and lower profile didnt do well in light snow and loose sand on the road. Cornering is better. Just have to wait till it rains and than of course winter.
So i will report back more later in time. Just wanted to comment on these as another good option.

Michelin makes a quality tire. I don't think you can go wrong with them.

Totally different tires than the Pirellis, ultra high performance tire vs Grand touring tire, they're going to be a stiffer more handling focused tire.

Truly glad you like them, Johnny, but the Michelin Pilot Sport AS 3+ were the worst tires I've ever had. Had them on our LS 430 and I chucked them after only three months. They rode stiff and were so loud that it distracted me from the act of driving. I've never hated a tire so much and these were the first Michelins that I have complained about in over 20 years with the brand. I did not find anything particularly great about the tires and the road noise was especially bad on the roads where we live. Only thing I liked about the 245/45/18 tires was that they looked great and gave the car a sportier stance. Other than the looks, I absolutely hated driving with those tires.

currently I'm using the Polot Sport AS 3. During the first 15k miles of driving it was pretty quiet and comfortable. But after 15k miles it became pretty loud when driving around 50 mph. I expect them to last ~25k miles.
wondering what other options we have for a quiet & nice ride? thanks a lot

I'm a longtime Michelin guy, but these Pirellis are great, this is my second set.

Just repeating what Steve said above. I also bought two sets of Pirellis, although for an LS 430 and then the LS 460. Love the Pirelli P7+. I really wanted to try the Michelin Premier A/S for comparison but Steve is correct that they don't come in the proper sizing. I did manage to try the Premier LTX 235/50/18 in the LS 430 but found the little bit of extra sidewall made things bouncy. I knew the LTX was meant for an SUV/Truck tire but I was trying to stay in the Michelin family at the time and didn't want to downsize from 18s to 17s. Ultimately I replaced the Premier LTX with Pirellis and have never looked back.

Thanks a lot for the input.
wonder how about the michellin pilot super sport?
seems they got lots of good reviews. seems the only draw-back would be low tread life.

I would have purchased the Premier A/S that Steve mentioned if it had been available in the 245/45R19 size. The Pirelli's so far are very good.

If you value primarily a smooth quiet ride you're looking at entirely the wrong sort of tires. Instead of looking for tires like the Pirellis, why not buy the Pirellis?
