Error Message " Check connection to air conditioner " !
So, i been searching around and found a bunch of threads but actually they lead to no where, most are in LX470. Anyway, here is how my car acting up.
So i got myself a Beat Sonic dvd pybass to watch video while driving, everyone knows that of course. As for today when i was trying to leave work ( i park my car outside and it is very hot in TEXAS at this time of the year ), so i went in and started the car, the AC kicked on and worked fine ( because i had it on auto and i never shut it off when turn off the engine ) but on the screen there was a message saying Please check connection to air conditioner ! So i ignored it and drove away with Bypass DVD mode is on. 1 minute later, the ABS VSC lights came on. I had to stop and switch off the Bypass DVD mode to off ( normal ) and restart the car again. After that everything went away, ABS AND VSC went away, AC control on the screen came back and everything went back to normal.
Sorry for the long story but my main question is : Do you guys think the Bypass DVD cable is acting up and giving me some malfuntion with the AC controller and some other warning lights on the dash ?
Thanks for reading.

Haven't seen any other complaints like this with the beatsonic so it wouldn't appear to be the device. Maybe a connector wasn't locked in and has come loose in back? Or maybe a bad pass through cable? One detected (apparent) malfunction may be setting the other warnings off (although they generally just set off limp mode).

I noticed something today too that it only happens when the temp inside the car is high ! For example, it is only happening in the hot sunny afternoon above 100 F but not early in the morning around 80 F ! Thats really weird !

Mine LS does this sometimes. When i first turn on the car, there is no display of temperature outside nor adjustable temp inside, no lights on the AC controls, VSC and ABS is on, wait for a few second, turn it off and back one and everything is fine !

On my 2007 I had it on a battery tender for about 6 months. I get in to start the car and have this dreaded error.
I checked every single fuse in the car and even swapped out the heater control portion of the navigation unit. Error still there, the unit never powers on. Next step is to replace the whole navigation unit? Any one else solve this issue or figure out the root cause?

I found a bunch of other threads on the same issue, none of the solutions helped. A few with the DVD bypass causing the problem. I have the Prestigious Society bypass. I removed it entirely and it still doesn't work. Since the HVAC is so integrated with the nav unit I guess that's next on the list.

Another place to look may be the ac amplifier. They do tend to crap out on the older Ls's. The wire harness for the ac amp doesn't have any excess slack. At least one other member had some pins pop out on their own causing his ac amp issues.
I've never read of the ac amp being associated with that message but I suppose it is a possibility. When mine failed the selected temp would always reset to 75f on startup. Used amps are a lot cheaper than a nav unit if your looking to throw parts at it. I was able to squeeze mine out without removing the glove box.

I have an exec package so my a/c amp would have to be bought new. The p/n is 88650-50550 (51,52,53,54, 55 latest p/n) and isn't available used anywhere. $600-$800. The nav has to be from a 600hl or 460 with rear seat entertainment, 86430-50070, 50071, or 50072

If you are patient / creative with your searches many of the hard to find used items can be located using Facebook marketplace. Set search criteria to a 500 mile radius. Then select a major city. If no hits select another major city. Typically after a few searches you have covered most of the usa. I typically search LA, phoenix, Dallas, and Atlanta. They cover the lower half. Many times the salvage auction cars end up getting parted out on fb ( no fees). Don't search for the specific item, search for a 600hl.
I found a number of parts for my car this way.
Or on ebay find someone selling the rear seat entertainment. Then inquire about the nav / amp.

The AC computer is the culprit. I bought a common one online just to rule it out and the climate control booted right up. This part number didn't have rear climate control so none of those functions are on the navi display.
Now to order the correct p/n for the vehicle. 88650-50555. Since there were 5 part number revisions to my specific part number, I wonder if the software or hardware was tweaked or improved.
I wonder if this is something that should be disconnected during long term storage/trickle charging or if it was just a coincidence.
