Opinions on two 2013 LS460's
I've been considering upgrading to a LS460 from from my 2013 GS350 F Sport. I've found two 2013 local LS460's with one being an F Sport being sold at a BMW dealership and the other is a 2013 L/Certified. Both have pretty much the same mileage and very similar in price also.
Here is the F Sport:

And the L/Certified:

Would you guys buy a LS460 from a BMW dealership?
I really like the style of the F Sport but on the other hand I like the L/Certified warranty of the non-F Sport.
Which one would you guys pick?

I personally prefer the color of the F-sport but in just the few blurry pictures the l/cpo seems to have more options which I prefer and it has an extended warranty, but make sure you get the extended warranty paper work before you leave the dealership I don't think it happens often but there are several threads here with people who bought a "cpo" but when had a problem there was not cpo warranty in place. Since you are not in a big hurry(at least I dont think so) I would write down what options that are non-negotiable, what options you want and what options would be awesome but not necessary to make the deal. After that I would figure out how much money you have to spend on the car, line up financing(if necessary) then start patiently waiting and looking at cars.com, autotrader.com, cargurus.com and also craigslist(not usually very good but the nice thing is you can setup alerts so you never have to get on the site.)

Ugh, they both have air suspension. It is OK, but if you plan to keep the car for a long time, a $3500 (parts cost only) bill is in your future when it comes time to replace the shocks.

Yikes! That's why I'm leaning more for the L/Certified which would hopefully cover the air suspension.

Funny, just like the older LS forums... only owners who don't own air suspension equipped models are the ones telling you not to buy them. I have been riding on air for a while now and love it.

On a non-CPO car, the best numbers I got were:
8 year 75,000 = $1965
8 year 100,000 = $2685
9 year 100,000 = $3040
10 year 100,000 = $3285
These are from Toby Rivers at Lexus of Shreveport. They run from the first date in service (ie when the car was new) and presume the car is still under the original 4/50 warranty
On the CPO car the numbers are:
8 years = $1210
9 years = $1625
10 years = $2105
11 years = $2640
Unlimited mileage and again, starting when the car is new.

As an owner of both air suspended and non-air, I'd choose non-air. The Sport has already failed one air shock under warranty, and the other side sags after a few weeks of storage.

The certified cars carry about a $2k premium- so the fact the cars are priced virtually the same means you should be able to negotiate more on the Sport. Air suspension was covered under CPO on my LX570 (I believe it's considered "hydraulic suspension" on the LX), but in theory I'd guess it should be covered on an LS since it was deemed a "mechanical failure" on my LX. FWIW, it was a $2k value to replace everything on the LX. It seems it may be significantly more expensive to repair the air suspension on an LS, though I don't know why because I don't know the details behind the difference between the LS and LX.
I'm not as familiar with the '13 and beyond for air ride, but in the years I was looking ('10-'12), air ride is an option on all of the models (SWB, LWB, Sport) so it just depends on the car and how it was optioned. I ended up buying an L but it doesn't have air suspension. There's a button on the center console (between gear shift and armrest) that lets you see from pics if the car has air suspension.
I'm thinking about this more and every Sport I looked at had air suspension... so maybe it comes standard??
