Hi,

I purchased an used LS460 L 2007 from a friend of mine recently. The problem is I can lock/unlock the car using the fob buttons but I cannot lock/unlock using the door handles.
None of the door handles works to unlock, nor lock with the the black button. When I press the black button, I hear a short beep sound but it does not lock.
I replaced the fob battery but no luck. He told he replaced the car battery recently.
Any idea?

If you are near the car, within one meter or so do the puddle lights in the mirrors light up?
Second, is there a (spare) key-fob in the car? If so the car will not lock because it "thinks" you left your keys in the car. (You can test this by trying to start the car without the fob near you, leave it somewhere out of range of the car)

 

Came to say this. Make sure you didn't leave your spare key in the console or glovebox.

 

Yes you are right. My friend couldn't find a spare fob and it is actually in the car. Thanks a lot!!
