Impressive Highway mileage
I miss having the digital instantaneous MPG display from the LS 430. Our 2013 LS 460 RWD has that "Current MPG" bar graph like BMWs. I can't get an exact read because it's in increments of 10 MPG or something like that. I don't think there are any settings to show exact instantaneous MPG. So far, it appears I can get 32 or 33 MPG on certain stretches of flat freeway.
You could add an Accugage, which plugs into the OBDII port, however, I found leaving mine plugged in ran the battery down over the course of 24-36 hours.
I wasn't about to unplug it every time I knew it was going to be parked more than a day.

Probably a moot point anyways because I find it hard to drive sedately in the 460. The torque is great and makes getting up to speed effortless, even more so than the 430...the problem is that addictive top end and race-car like staccato note when it nears redline. The 430 was like ripping silk. The 460 isn't quite as refined in its engine note but the sound is a different type of addiction.
My 600h gets slightly better mileage than my LS430; but I usually drive it faster so the difference could be greater if i didn't stomp on it so much :P . Bear in mind the 600 has FT awd which is a friction loss but I still see 27-28mpg in that car on the way to Palm Springs; and that's at speeds approaching 90mph. My 430 only has a 5sp autobox though; the 6sp might get a little better.
On the same daily slog the 430 reports 19mpg while the 600 is usually 20-21 mpg. But again (literally) YMMV.
this is nice. I just got a 2007 460 and I don't get anywhere close to you guys. Highway is about 21 and I drive super soft. I barely try to accelerate to see how high I can push the mpg. Is there anything I can do to improve it? I already drive w a feather touch and it's more or less medium terrain (Los Angeles 101/405 freeways)
On the 2013+ models, they have a minute by minute bar graph so you can see your fuel consumption. Unfortunately the MPG axis tops out at 30mpg - the bar won't go any higher! So I guess I'm getting 30-35 mpg at some points but the bar graph can't display any higher than 30.
Just did a long road trip for work as well and I was getting an easy 26-28 average on highway
My L falls flat in the city though, gets pretty crappy mileage in the stop and go traffic.

[QUOTE=Oliver Enterprises;9817968]Throw a set of Exhaust Vents on there, and you will fall in love all over again. You may have trouble achieving 30 mpg, because the sound is so good, you'll want to push it harder, just to hear it!

I can vouch for the exhaust vents and this mod will make you want to drive the car more often with a grin. I just installed the exhaust vents and they are fantastic! They sound great and are not loud but noticeable in a good way. I actually double stacked and they sound perfect. Very happy with the purchase and thanks for your help Jason.

I have just done my first full tank of petrol in my new LS and averaged 11L per 100KM which is the same as 25.6 miles per gallon.
This was in city peak hour traffic. Driving to and from the office during the week i travel around 65km or 40 miles a day.

I bought it at 98k miles around February and the history looked good. Fortunately the oil and air filters looked clean at the time of purchase, but I cleaned the MAF sensors and throttle body (which was very dirty) as a precaution. I've used a bottle of STP at the same time to see if it's a placebo effect or if there were any gremlins in the system lol but these were all done immediately once I bought it. It's been strong 30s on the highway from the get go. Currently my cars at 103k, I've put around 5,000 miles so far and the photo above has been me testing 70-75mph, mostly 70mph though.
At 102k miles I finally changed the spark plugs and at 103k I changed the oil (message on the dash), but no change in fuel economy or anything. Its all been great since the get go, that highway 99 near Bakersfield up through Visalia is incredibly flat so I think I'm lucky lol

Another side note, I noticed my mileage went down a couple weeks ago, which definitely wasn't normal! At the same time the car somewhat pulled to the right once one my hands were off the wheel. I took it for an alignment twice and they said my tires were bad, didn't sound right to me. I took the wheels off and found the rotor had difficulty rotating, turned out it was some sticky brakes! After that was fixed the car didn't pull to the right and my mileage went back to the 30s on the highway lol
