My steering wheel has some light spots on the outer left rim. I can't really feel much of a difference in texture or level of the material so I'm guessing that the dye has worn off or something has stained it.
Has anybody tried to re-dye the steering wheel leather? It's this weird polished stuff that's not like the other coated (or non coated leather) in the car.
I have done steering a wheel repair (not on a Lexus) with a steering wheel repair kit from www.leatherique.com and the repair came out OK in my opinion but the owner loved it compared to what they had before. I highly recommend this job should be done by a pro if your car is in good condition.
You can always change the steering wheel or install a leather cover.

We painted my steering wheel black and the tape actually peeled off the leather where we masked it off. It was pretty bad so around 3am trying to get ready for a show, I found a can of SEM black and thought what the hell.....I'll try it. After several build up coats to even out the part that got totally pulled up, here's the result.
MrMark, we don't have any before pictures, but the after looks pretty good.
Can you post some more pics of your A-pillar and door speakers oh and your seats. Your car looks awesome.
I don't have any before since I actually painted it about 3am that day I was out in Chicago so pictures were the last thing on my mind..... Trust me, it was bad......almost all the black was taken off the leather part near the wood that we painted piano black. I had to build up with many coats since it was actually lower due to the tape ripping off the original color. It's held up until now so all's good. I was thinking about getting the black leather wrapped to the matching red of the seats.
