I just got an email notice on the 2017 LS and went to the Lexus web site. Nothing really outstanding and follows the '13-16 styling. With so much noise about the 2018 redesign based on the LF-LC concept hard to believe they will sell many 2017s at all.....

A least the LC is not actually "replacing" anything except for us 1st gen SC devotees but even that is debatable given the "L" designation (instead of "S"), lack of a manual option, a "hybrid" (really??), and the predicted very steep price tag ($100-115K - ouch) which makes the LC being the next sports car for Lexus a myth. (I know the "LC" is supposed to be "Luxury Coupe" and targeting those wanting a grand touring car..... Won't stop me from wanting one...). I suppose this was due to the newest Supra being released some day and that will be the Toyota "super car" for the masses (if that price point is not too lofty) in the sports car market (and a welcome choice in this space) if one can accept the styling.

But, this is the LS thread so the 2018 appears to be worth waiting for at the expense of 2017 sales....

I just looked yesterday at the Lexus website to see/compare the 2017 LS to 2016. Prices on the various trims are the same as 2016, however, missing from 2017 altogether is the LS 600h L. Is it being discontinued?
If it is being discontinued, this would be in line with the rumors in some articles suggesting that Toyota (and Lexus) are moving away from electric/hybrid.....leaving that to Tesla etc.
The LF-FC concept fuel cell car looks interesting. If the Toyota fuel cell car does reasonably well, I could see Lexus moving to fuel cell and drifting away from electric/hybrid?

If there were 10 years down the road an LS - FC, that would be interesting!!!!

It doesn't surprise me that Lexus might be dropping the 600 due to low sales, but I would be very surprised if they dropped hybrids. At least not for many years because the fuel cells are still a long way from happening.
