Got my first ls460.
Clear bra in front and side mirrors are peeling off. I plan to remove it. Actually hate it lol.
There is a lot of oil leaking.
Lexus inspector said it was leaking from oil filter housing drain and need to fix it. However when car is parked in inclined driveway, ton of oil was found. This was sold by Mercedes dealer. They have always told me car is sold as is but now lexus inspector told me Mercedes just did oil change and they were suppose to fix oil issue before sending to me.

Curious though (sorry for the hijack)-why did you hate yours?
More so, didn't care enough to make it a priority to properly address the issue.
I believe he had this car transported to him.
Either way, the car shouldn't arrive leaking oil they way he says it is. Bad business.
Though it should have been taken care of-either by Lexus on the dealerships dime (preferable) or by the selling dealership.
But if in fact the leak is due to a loose of faulty filter, it should serve to be an easy fix.
Because you could tell it was there and didn't shine up like the rest of the car. I'd rather have paint to correct and polish. I always had people notice that there was a film there, and it had pitting, bubbles and marks where it did it's job, but the eye was drawn to it. So I peeled it off and prefer the paint to deal with. The only other option would have been to apply a new bra, which is more expensive than just doing a paint correction. IMHO, if the film was so great, why not apply it to the entire car? My analogy is like my Italian friend's parents who used to put clear plastic wraps on their sofas. LOL.
Plastic on the couch brings back memories....

I hear you regarding the cover.
The spots where the cover did work, I can see small spots, but its not super evident, but you can definitely feel it when washing/drying. But I don't have any bubbles or marks.
Regarding doing the whole car, I think very few people have, but many just protect certain area's, as simply doing it, from what I understand, is costly.
I'd like to do paint correction also (im hijacking again).
I'll reserve this for a PM!
Congrats on the car! If the Mercedes dealer is reputable and assuming the dealer isn't local to you, I'd get an estimate of the oil leak repair and request the dealer to send you a check or credit card refund for the amount.
Wishful thinking! It's no longer the dealership problem plus they gotten their money. A little helpful advise, don't buy any vehicle unseen and most dealerships want be honest with you.

What's the harm in trying?
Perhaps. From the OP:

The OP said that Lexus stated it wasn't a big deal, that it as an filter issue, so as I said before, it shouldn't be anything overly complicated.
When I purchased my car, I wasn't exactly close to an interstate, so I wasn't able to take it for an extended ride at 60+mph, but did have it inspected.
Once I drove it home, about an hour+ away, I had slight vibration at hwy speeds.
I took it to Lexus and they said I needed a RFB.
I called the salesman I dealt with right there on the spot and let him speak to the Lexus SA.
The phone was handed back to me and the selling dealer agreed to compensate me for the service.
Check was in the mail 4 days later.
It's probably a cracked oil filter that is pooling at the bottom of the oil filter housing drain.
If you remove the oil filter drain bolt it will not leak oil because the valve is closed until you push in the drain tube.
Because you have leaking oil from this area, the whole undercarriage plastics and exhaust component are drenched in oil which is not a good thing and it should be cleaned using degreasers. I would not drive the car until the the oil filter issue is fixed and if it were to be driven to a dealership I would check the oil level before taking the risk otherwise you will risk a catastrophic failure. If it is a big enough leak I would have the car towed to the nearest dealership because if the crack in the housing lets go so will your oil pressure.
This car is a good candidate for the Aluminum upgraded oil filter housing.

so leak was coming from oil filter housing. i took it to my mechanic and hes real honest. housing was an aftermarket part. i dont know who changed it but he said seal is entirely by the O ring. he checked it and thought it was little loose and replaced with new O-ring. didnt even charge me for it until he knows leak is gone. im at work but will go home and see if i see any oil spot again.
now i called out sales guy at MB and told him about it. he swears car never had oil leaking problem when it was there.
i told him lexus inspector told me about it and he also said he told you guys to take care of it before shipping to me.
MB sales guy says he never was told there was a leakage and never told to take care of it. he also stated they never ship out car with oil leakage or oil pressure issues. he said he is gonna call lexus inspector.
So everyone is blaming another. honestly wish it was just O ring.
now due to timing, i didnt have time to thoroughly clean bottom with degreaser but they just kinda wiped the main oil leaked area. i plan to go back and clean better.

Worth getting a new housing if the new O-ring doesn't fix it -- they're not expensive. Devh had a nice thread here recently about OEM metal filter housings.
Glad that's the extent of the problem. I'm also glad you're trying to hold the dealer accountable -- if it were me I probably wouldn't bother, letting them get away with it, just because it's such a pain in the rear to fight.

If it's that's the aftermarket part from Amazon that doesn't say Toyota on it I would change it out ASAP. I wouldn't trust a third party whatever Chinese copy for anything oil related.
With this type of filter design it's not easy for the O ring to seep oil unless it was loose or not seated well. A cheap imitation could possibly not seat the O ring and you might end up with another leak.
I would tell the dealer you just want to be compensated for the minor repair which involves a new oil filter housing.
