Default Reset mirrors?

I have my mirrors set to tilt when I am in reverse but now they are no longer going back to their initial position when I shift from R to D. They always end up too low and require further adjustment. Is there a way to reset/recalibrate the mirrors?

I realizer that this may be obvious, but I assume you tried disabling and then re-enabling the feature? Can you adjust the mirrors? Are there any grinding noises when you move them?

No noise and yes I can adjust each as desired. Until recently, I never had this issue and it's happening on both sides suddenly. Basically I have the switch set to left so they tilt when in reverse but used to come back to their original position once in drive. Now they do come back w/o noise or grinding but are always few inches too low which forces me to readjust both sides everytime. For now I put the switch in the middle but would love to know if there is a way to reset/realign the mirrors properly to avoid this problem.

Could these have been manually tilted "manually" (in the maximum down position) by accident when washing the car? Try adjusting the mirrors by hand to set them up at a mid point and see if that works.

Got you, I am going to remove the glass then reset each mirror socket before putting it back and hopefully that will do. Thanks!

Also, do you have a memory position set? Is it possible that the mirrors are returning to a position determined by that memory set, instead of to where they were prior to backing up? Just a thought.
