Default Trunk opening issues.....

My trunk will open with the FOB and cabin switch.......it will start to open, then reach about 2/3 open and then stops and closes hard. I have a custom interior panel that may be too much weight for the lid, but even when I assist it going up, it still stops and closes hard.

Is there a way to either manually override the auto open/close, or change the sensitivity of the auto close actuator?

To clarify, do yo have the motorized hydraulic trunk (with a switch on the trunk lid)?

If NOT.....then yes you can adjust it. I can tell you how, as I have done it. I'll post how once we establish what you have.

1st try removing the custom decklid piece an see if the trunk functions as normal... if so u can try adding gas shocks.. i also think there maybe an adjustment for the torsion bars that support the trunk lid... worst case u can disconnect the trunk motor an just use the gas shocks to lift an hold the trunk open...
