Default Current Navigation Map Version?

Has anyone had a recent update and would know what the version is? I want to make sure my CPO is going to have the most up to date.

I think the current version is 13.1, but perhaps someone else can confirm that.

The point I did want to make is the updates come out in September, so be sure to wait until then to get yours updated.

The parts guy at Lexus of Tulsa told me the next version coming out in Oct will be 14.1. I am waiting until then before updating our version 9.1 in our 2010 LS 460L. They are always a year behind the model year of the car. The version 14 will be in the 15 model year car. I am going to do this one time just to bring the map data base up to current version. Mine is 5 versions old and we just got back off a 4,862 mile trip and it found everyplace I asked it to.

They come out every year in October. Think I'll upgrade mine this year from my 10.1

It is my understanding that (now that I own the car) that if the Lexus is purchased CPO, that the navigation should be updated to the most recent version. I purchased the vehicle in April 2014, but have the 10.1 update on the nav. Do you think Lexus would update this for free or am I stuck with the upgrade fee?

Default Nav Data date

My overall question is, "How do you determine the date of Nav data?". More specifically, in the number PT219-GEN05-13, does the "13" indicate the year of the nav data? And, if not, how do you determine the year of issue?
Thanks!

I just upgrade my 2007 LS460 Nav and it removed the need to hit the confirmation button (OK). Well worth the price. What year did they stop requiring you to hit the OK button?

On the Display hit the button that says info/phone. Push the Map data button and it will list the version that is loaded.

Check the official CPO checklist (it's floating around here somewhere) and see if you can find "Update Nav software" on it anywhere. Hint: you can't.

Do the updates provide update appearance and functionality or merely road updates?

The link I posted earlier covers what changes and has this as a FAQ

http://www.lexusnavigation.com/faq/

Does installation of a navigation update change the way my navigation display looks or operates?

No, a navigation update only updates map and POI (points of interest) information.
There is one exception where the auto I agree approval was added five years back

I purchased a 2011 CPO LS in December of last year. It had the 2010 version of maps. I had the local Lexus dealer update to the 2013 version - cost was about $300. FWIW, service rep said that about every 3 years is the optimum update interval, that there were not many changes from year to year.

BTW, you probably know this, but this is not DIY - dealer has to attach to the unit to authorize the update.
