Hi there:

This works on the IS250/350 cars to disable the seatbelt buzzer:

1. turn the key to the ON position which means pressing the start button twice on the new IS since it doesn't has the key, foot off the brake.
2. Press the trip reset button couple of times until the ODO is displayed (not trip A or B).
3. turn the ignition to the LOCK (OFF) position.
4. unbuckle the driver's seatbelt if it was buckled.
5. turn the key to the ON position again press the start button twice. when the dash lights comes on, press and hold the trip reset button and count a slow 12 seconds. (editor's note, hold it more like 30 sec).
6. while still holding the trip reset button, buckle the driver's side seatbelt.
7.and the odometer display should read "b ON" or "b OFF". toggle the beep OFF with the trip reset.
8. the process should be completed when you unbuckle or turn the key off.

Anybody tried this or something similar on the LS460? Or does it have to be set by the dealer?

Interesting. Wish I saw this a while ago to try out. I recently had mine set by my service adviser at the dealership for free, while getting my oil changed.

So even if it doesn't work, you still might be able to get it done for free at your Lexus dealer.

I am actually glad it buzzes. Reminds me to wear my seatbelt.

Well the reason I opted to disable the chime is because whenever I drop someone off, the chime would sound for at least 30sec. Sometimes the car thinks someone is still in the seat.

Hmm, don't have that problem but I hated it when I was driving around low speed at a car wash parking lot or moving the car real quick..that's why I had mine disabled. I wear my seat belt 100% of the time when driving on regular roads

I leave it on because it forces my passengers to put on the seatbelt... so that annoyance will stay on....lol

Well I'm going to sure as heck-fire try it since that chime starts to drive me to drink after it kicks in to turbo-mode after a few seconds more. And I've been conditioned to hook up my seat belt for 30 years now so I don't need that chime blasting away to remind me. I hope it works. Walking to my garage right now to try it. Good bye.

I do the parent approach. .no belt..no move lol..everyone buckles up in my car. .I don't need their ignorant *** hitting me in a rollover. I have lost too many friends in car crashes that they most likely would of walked a way from had they been wearing their belt

I'm glad to have it, reminds me to put the seatbelt on. Hitting the windshield at 60/70 mph again is not on my to do list.

Yes, me too. It works on my IS250 (the design of which is similar but 1 year older than the LS460) but I guess they "improved" things over the period of that one year.

putting on my seatbelt is like putting on my shoes and socks before i walk out the door. i don't even think about it , i just do it... second nature. i don't mind the annoying alert.
