Every time i get an oil change i re-open my filter covers to make sure that Lexus didn't take the filters for themselves!

 

I would stay away from K&N re-useable filters, or any re-useable that is fabric + oil combination. They might provide a little more flow, but you don't get something for nothing. They are not fine enough to filter dirt as paper filters. This is already proven, and you can prove it yourself, by using paper filter on a new oil change and do an oil analysis vs new oil change with re-useable filters. It is so noticeable (as little as 1,000 miles) you can visually see the oil used with re-usable air filters is dirtier with the same mileage as paper air filtered.

 

I buy almost all my parts and supplies from either Walmart or Ebay.

As for K&N.....there is tons of research that shows engine dusting due to their use as well as failing MAF sensors due to over-oiling. Go to "Bob is the Oil Guy" website for some frightening info on K&N. Back in the day, I used them in all my vehicles including my Cobra. When I sent in a used oil sample to Blackstone Laboratories, it came back with extreme level of silicate (Ie: SAND). I removed and disposed of all of the K&N's after that. Stick with Wix, Mann, etc.
