I just recently purchased a 2009 LS460 AWD 41k miles. I had several repairs done but I continue to run into an intermittent probably. Last time I lost power after running the car almost empty. After refueling I started to get a hesitation when trying to accelerate car would take about 4 sec before the motor would engage mostly when making a turn from a dead stop. Lexus kept it for two weeks informed me they disconnected the battery and changed a fuse. I been driving the car for two weeks everything perfect put about 1500 miles on car fuel level got below quarter of tank and again I have a huge hesitation when accelerating. Yesterday I used ECT power mode along with sport car ran great. Driving to work everything runs fine after lunch driving in school zone at 15mph I go to accelerate got about 4 second delay.
Any suggestion
Well aint that nice of him!! Lol. They didnt try to reflash the tranny?? When accelerating do the rpm go up but no go like the tranny is searching for a gear???
No, it's not the fuel filter. That's why I asked you if you saw black smoke. If the gas filter was clogged you would see black smoke come out the exhaust.
Ok here we go I spoke to dealer and they are telling me the emergency brake is faulting causing it to tell the computer it is engaged and that is why I am not getting a response out of the pedal. Here’s the funny part they say when the bumper and truck lid where replaced after an accident the body man pinched a wire and that is the cause. I asked them to explain how the bumper and truck lid have anything to do with the wiring harness. I asked them to put it in writing so I could have my body pull the rear end apart but if the wire was not the issue they would be paying the bill and rental cost with additional action. They took a different position and advise me the Lexus representative would come by yesterday and set up an appointment me with me to discuss. I have left a couple of messages but no return call yet. I guess my threat of a law suit at least got their attention to find the real problem because I was not going to lay down for some DA excuse
I purchased the car I knew the bumper had been replaced bought it with 41k miles. Drove the car all over the state put 3k miles on it car ran perfect had them do the control arms and other warranty repair since then it has had power issues. Really
While I don't know the history of your car, the parking brake theory sounds like a crock of bull on the part of the dealership. Engagement of the parking brake (assuming that was the case) does not make the ECU "ignore" the accelerator pedal.
Please take a look at this link, which I posted for you a month ago in a different thread. Based on what you said, it doesn't seem like you raised this specifically in your visit to the dealership, yet based on the symptoms you're describing, it sounds like the next logical step, and that is why I had posted it.
Yea thanks went to dealership yesterday and spoke with Manger. I misunderstood the truck lid has been changed but it is nothing to do with problem. Check braking system light is now on and they are saying this is what is causiong the problem. I was upset becuase the problem never occured prior to them doing warranty work( control arms and rear brakes), They informed me Lexus looked at the car Friday and should have the matter resolved Mon or Tuesday at the lastes.
I will take the the TSIB in with me Monday. Lucky for me a work about 2 minutes from the dealership so I can stay on top the problem with them.
I looked up the Vin number and it appears the previous owner kept the service as required but I do not see the repair on the value spring recall? Dealer informed me it has already been performed by previous owner. How would it be logged on the Lexus website?
