Default Another Battery Issue

This weekend, again, my battery in my 07 began to give me problems. This is the same battery that was replaced by my dealer in 2009 and most recently 1/2010. Well, I was going to go and get an Autozone Duralast Gold but decided to go to the dealer this morning and let them know of the garbage they sell and ask to see what my replacement charge if any would be since the battery only lasted 19 months of the 94 months it claims. Well, to my surprise, my service writer told me that since the cars factory warranty had expired a few months ago, so did the warranty on the battery, since I had it replaced under warranty before.................what a POS. Anyone had this issue

WTF?! Your batt should be FREE!!! You need to challange them on it or go to another Lexus dealer, they are running some bull-ish on you, NO way you should have to pay for a new batt. Also if you call Lexus roadside asst they can replace the batt for free on the spot after they test to be sure its dead, again don't fall for that BS!

I Had my batt replaced for free on Sat at the dealer, (no more factory warranty) the last one was put in the car in Jan 2010. Batt did not last 2 yrs, I asked my tech what brand did he put in, he said Interstate it has Lexus name on it. I believe the last one was a Panny so i will see how long this one last.

Took his word. Battery installed already. Does anyone have a number that I can call to complaint? Maybe I can get my money back.

Sounds kind of strange to me. My Lexus dealer sells a Lexus branded battery for $120 and it has a 2-year replacement and an 82-month prorated warrantee.

I couldn't be more happy with that deal. They replace the battery and check out the system. If under 2 years, no cost whatsoever.

They will take care of you. Your replacement battery has a 2 year free replacement warranty. Your advisor made a mistake but Lexus will own up. Relax!

Well, got a call from Lexus Corp yesterday advising me they will be refunding me the cost of the new battery. The problem I see here is the (dealer) will try to get away with whatever they can and yes I think my service adviser knew he was giving me wrong info and just wanted that extra $$$$ in his pocket. Thanks to this forum and others that have gone through the same, is where you get educated with the proper info to get back at them.

Looks like Lexus did what the dealer should have in the first place, glad it all worked out for you.

If you have time, I recommend that you send an email/letter to the service advisor with a copy to the dealer general manager informing him of his mistake and of the assistance rendered by Lexus Corp. The general manager may be interested in knowing about goodwill blunders such as this.
