Cool what 161 point inspection!

I just bought a 08 ls 460 that is certified pre owned. I had some front end noise and took my 3 week old certified to the dealer and come to find out I had the following problems, upper and lower control arms -bad, brake actuator -bad, windshield wipers -bad,right rear air dam -falling off. and a few other issues that I will find out about when I pick up the car today. ( It has been in the shop for 4 days now. Although I do have complete confidence in the service manager, I have dealt with them with my last car(gs350) I am a little queezy with this car. I guess that this my be an isolated occurrence.

seems like they didn't even take off the wheels when they did that CPO inspection. Hope they remedy these issues

When I was shopping for my LS I came across a "cop" 07 LWB with dings and scratches all around the car and the interior had a horrible cigar smell and burn marks all over the interior. It also pulled a LOT. To the right when I test drove it... They gave me an excuse that it was still a new car that they just got in but I went there after a month and it was still in the same condition... CPO my ****...

This is why I saved the 6k on the CPO vehicles I was looking at and bought a non CPO from an Infiniti delaership. Most of the CPO cars were going for around 45 to 46k and I got mine for 39k. I had them replace all the tires and all I needed to do was to turn the rotors. ( I felt a shimmy in the wheels when braking). In then I made out like a bandit. In the end I figured if the car still has full factory warranty (in my case) there was no reason to get the CPO. I just took her in after I bought the car and told the service people to tear the car apart looking for stuff to fix or adjust. My brakes will need replacement soon but I got a full kit from brake performance for less than 550 buck front and rear rotors and ceramic pads.

To hell with CPO. lol

I picked up my ls and my service guy went into everything in detail. they put over $8000 in parts alone and detailed the car inside and out /filled it up with Sunoco 91 octane and It drive like I thought a ls should drive!
So far so good, like I said it could just be the one that slipped through the cracks. Will keep everyone informed. I have noticed that the members of these cars are knowledgeable and passionate. I read more than I post. They also put the bolt kit on my mirrors so no movement now.

I know they have to do something to get the CPO status but I wonder if they are really doing it all. Kind of like when we get service rather than oil change and they say we checked all of these other little random things. Makes you wonder if they really did anything

when i read it, first thing that i thought was, if they had to replace 8k in parts, how was the car really driven by the previous owner?! either that or the dealership replaced the slightest things that's not in new car condition
