My first LS 400!!
Hey guys,
I have been a lurker for some time and actually used this site as a research tool for buying my LS. It is a beautiful 1996 and I have attached a pic. It has 97K but the body and interior are mint! I had it examined prior to purchase at the Lexus dealer (boy are they awesome!)and it needs ball joints (upper control arms) and rear carrier bushings. In fact, the Lexus Service agent was very impressed with the price I paid and the overall condition of the vehicle. Since I bought it from a dealer, there were no service records other than what could be pulled through CarFAX and Lexus which stopped at 55K. The dealer indicated the owner had tons of service records, and I am working with the dealer to procure those. I definelty plan on doing the TB service if I cant procure those docs.
At any rate, I do have a couple of questions:
Since I have pretty much serviced all my vehicles, I plan on doing the UCAs and the rear carrier bushings. Do you guys have any recommendations on where to get those? Quote from Lexus seemed kind of high at $480 each. Local Pep boys can order for $270/ea.
My other question is the gas pedal seems heavy, or maybe a better description is takes some effort to push. Is this typical of LS400s? I am looking forward to being a member and posting helpful threads as I deal with my new baby. Thanks!!!
